BIS and SAB/CLP will merge into Bibliosuisse

On 12 March 2018, two Swiss library associations, BIS and SAB/CLP, decided to merge to form a new entity called Bibliosuisse. BIS mostly represents academic and heritage libraries, as well as documentation centres (BIS stands for Bibliothèque Information Suisse), while CLP represents reading public libraries (CLP stands for Communauté de travail des bibliothèques suisses de lecture publique).

The merger will officially take place on 29 August 2018 in Montreux during the Swiss Library Congress, after which the new association will begin its activities on 1 January 2019. Bibliosuisse will represent all types of libraries and their staff.
